Eurocode 8 - Design provisions for earthquake resistance of structures - Part 2: Bridges

This Part of ENV 1998 contains Design Principles, Criteria and Application Rules applicable to the earthquake resistant of bridges. It covers primarily the seismic design of bridges in which the horizontal seismic actions are mainly resisted either at the abutments or through bending of the piers i.e. bridges composed of vertical or near vertical pier systems supporting the traffic deck superstructure. It can also be applied for the seismic design of other bridge types such as arch bridges, portal or tied bridges, and cable stayed bridges.
